Yoga Etiquette
Out of respect for your teachers and classmates, please respect the following:
- Make it a part of your practice to arrive five to ten minutes early.
- Align the front of your mat with the tape marks on the floor.
- Dispose of gum/candy.
- Please have clean feet and avoid perfumes and scented lotions.
- Remove shoes before entering the studio.
- Tell your teacher about injuries or limitations that might affect your practice.
- Only bring your mat, towel and water into class. Place everything else in the Zen Den cubbies.
- Turn off cell phones and pagers before entering the lobby. Please keep all phone conversations outside.
- Come with an empty stomach. Allow two to three hours for digestion after meals.
- Be prompt. Arriving late to class is disruptive to others. If you do arrive after class has started, quietly enter the studio and slowly roll out your mat. We lock the doors during class so if you are late, you will not be able to take class.
- Hydrate before, during and after class. However, if you hydrate all day, you should not need much water during class.
- Stay in the room until class is over. Our teachers will end class together so there is no need to worry if you have fallen asleep!
- Bring an open mind and playful spirit!
